OSoSiC II: SMS is leading on the Solihull Mass orchestra project.
This will feature most of our secondary schools and selected primary school to come together to form a mass orchestra – this has not been done by any other music hub. The orchestra will perform pieces from BBC 10 pieces. It is also hoped that a keys stage 3 choir (supported by Armonico) will be involved. Julian Lloyd Webber is supporting this event with support from BCU
Friday 16th February: OSoSiC II concert in Warwick Arts Centre.
The Cavern 2018
Solihull is the only authority to put this event on in the country and enjoys a unique relationship with the World Famous Cavern Club. As we celebrate our 10 year anniversary in partnership with Liverpool’s 10th anniversary of them being city of culture we are doing something completely different. Therefore on the 9th/10th July SMS will be taking over 3 stages at the Cavern – The Cavern Pub for open mic acts, Famous Cavern stage for bands of 4-6, Live Lounge for school ensembles. Hopefully, with street food and buskers etc it will create a real festival feel!
This will feature over 500 Solihull Pupils over the two days.
WCET Concerts – these concerts feature over 300 pupils from our primary schools coming together after being taught as part of the Whole Class Ensemble Tuition (wcet) program. These are amazing events and will take place at the Warwick Arts Centre and Bushell Hall
